This project aimed to enhance the quality of a sloping neighbourhood reserve in Howick by the creation of a range of viewing opportunities, spaces and sensory experiences. Aspects of the design such as planting and materials reflected the area's historic character.
The project required the preparation of concept plans for council and community review, working drawings for consent and tender documentation, and the contract management of physical works.
Consultation was undertaken with the local community through a series of community meetings where members were invited to give their feedback on proposals. It also provided opportunities for community groups to be involved with construction of the new reserve.
